Sum-Of-Its-Parts

@ The Falcon

Sum-Of-Its-Parts is a group of paintings spanning nineteen years consisting of four different series of John Grande's body of work. In this show John Grande explores fantasies, obsessions and cultural practices that are all subjects the artist depicted in his action packed, layered and dynamic paintings. Using repurposed wood for some of the selected artwork, the artist creates ambiguously-shaped paintings which become spatial explorations on the wall.

John Grande inserts momentary acknowledgments of art history and other artists. Nothing is off limits, everything is subject to his thought-provoking, yet playful visualization of our society at large.
